Howlin Steve Howell, plays dobro as his main instrument and spends time on mandolin along with acoustic guitar. His prowess was known in Kansas City amongst many blues musicians. He has opened for Duke Robillard, Tommy Castro has shared stage with Guitar Shorty along with playing aside many of the local musician’s in Kansas City. His claim of honors were the “Tom Joiner” show at Kemper arena where his band Howlin Steve Howell and Soul Shakers rocked 20,000 folks! Also playing the American Royal barbecue cook off at Kemper to over 20,000 plus. Steve writes and performs his music to the universal world at large. In Kansas City he performed with his band the Soul Shakers with almost all original music. They covered many states and many venues to packed houses and the dancing crowd

Douglas Hartford from Hastings Nebraska has played with just about every musician in Nebraska it would seem. His passion on several instruments brings out an array of rhythms and groove.  He hangs out with his trusted banjo and can cut in the groove like no one else. The rest of the time he loves jamming on his 12 string, and man the sound is large to say the least!

He has played with a long time known name in Hastings and Lincoln Nebraska with Smokey and the XYZ's who still performs in the area. He decided to take the plunge into the world of acoustics and sound with Howlin Steve Howell.
